Although I agree with most of what you have said, the one thing I have to disagree with you is that the NHS probably will not collapse.
Anecdotally ever since being of voting age, over 40 years ago, it's reported by the MSM that the NHS will collapse soon, a winter crisis in the NHS or the NHS is facing a perfect storm of staff shortages, extra demand etc. etc
My opinion is that the NHS is too big to collapse.
Sure, it will lurch from crisis to crisis, units will close, departments and hospitals will merge under 'new management', senior managers will fight tooth and nail (not for the sake of patient safety or anything important but to protect their renumeration packages).
So until someone in a position of power drastically changes the funding structure, I foresee the current system
I guess 'our betters' will keep kicking this infernal can down the road, as not one of them has the guts to speak out about this creaking post-war monolith. Honestly, if the NHS were an animal, it would have been put down years ago.
You note that no-one has copied the NHS. It's starker than that - in those countries who escaped the yoke of central planning after the collapse of communist dictatorships, one of the first things they did was to reform their health care. I'm pretty sure most if not all went for an insurance-based system with a safety net, similar to that in almost every other country. That's why I see Pole returning tonPoland for treatment, as their health care is far superior to the NHS in many areas.
People who moved here in the 60's and 70's then went home still come back to use the NHS to this day; I know from first hand experience, a relative of mine married a Moroccan, he went back only to return for the NHS!
Anyone who is "ordinarily resident" in the UK is entitled to free NHS hospital treatment. This means living in the UK on a lawful and properly settled basis for the time being.
Non-entitled Health Tourism costs the UK around £80,000,000 / year.
The effect of Health Tourism could be reduced dramatically by the NHS if it improved its administrative practices: check all 'customers' are entitled to treatment.
A&E should quite rightly be free but anything beyond A&E such as Urgent Care should require a credit/debit card payment to secure basic data about the customer. Even illegal immigrants now have credit cards!
This is such an easy fix I wonder who benefits by not having such a system?
The times we heard STUPID people say, "We wouldn't have the NHS if it wasn't for immigration".
Government treat us like morons and LIED about not being able to get Brits to be doctors (they restricted training)... LIED about Brits not wanting to nurse...

Very true!

Yes, this absolutely baffles me!

Your elites have turned one of the greatest countries into a trailer park with bear skin hats.
You got that right!
One of the best thing about being old is, as long as it is the truth, you don't give a shi, toss.
Keep up the good work, we do appreciate the work you put into telling the truth and asking uncomfortable questions.
Good afternoon!

Wrong… New Zealand has the same NHS system as UK and was introduced before UK
NHS+Tories+Labour KNOW mass immigration destroys NHS - not my words:

"south Asian heritage in UK higher risk of heart disease, stroke, diabetes, dementia to increase 600% in the next three decades"
