So great is our obsession with the slavery which took place centuries ago, that it is easy to forget that in Africa today the practice is still popular and widespread
I imagine those on the left don’t want to do anything to dispel the saintly status they have bestowed upon blacks, whereas those on the right would no doubt be called racist (pretty much meaningless these days) for drawing attention to such matters.
I would add that another reason the race grifters don’t bring up slavery in Africa is simply because there is no money, sorry I mean ‘reparations’, in it for them.
This article reinforces my concern that some, fairly large, sections of western society are gripped by a form of madness. Presented with real life situations they choose to ignore them or believe exactly the opposite. My view is that it is a form of "survivor guilt" with people looking for a way to self flagellate in penance for having built a relatively stable successful society.
Hello Simon, interesting article though I was vaguely aware that slavery is still fairly common in Africa and parts of the Middle East but am too surprised that this is not discussed - particularly by those woke people who bang on about the Atlantic Slave trade and BLM.
PS - on a different matter entirely I suspect that lack of vitamin D may be linked to many issues facing black people in northern climates like the UK, particular0ly mental health and its link to violent crime.
Thanks for getting back to me, I am quite thrilled - I must tell my wife.
Anyway, yes, I saw something this morning on You Tube that you posted about black women being at more risk during pregnancy - I first though about the vitamin D issue during Covid when apparently more black people were badly affected and have done a bit of Googling on vitamin D and severe mental health problems and black people - which was prompted by your posts highlighting the ethnic link with crime. Yes i now play guess the ethnicity when I hear in the news about certain crimes and usually I can now guess pretty accurately much of the time.
Anyway, I have been watching your posts now for a few years and really enjoy your delivery - which I think is evidence based, common sense and pretty objective and does get me thinking about things.
It's the first time, I think, that anybody has been thrilled to hear from me! If only my wife could be persuaded to the view that my opinions on anything are worth hearing...
No, as I say I have been watching History Debunked for quite some time and I do really enjoy it - thanks for all your interesting posts on You Tube over the years. Thanks for taking the time to get back to me.
This article shows the vacuity of the author, he attempts to compare a slave trade that existed on an industrial level and lasted 400 years which depleted Africa of its manpower, and laid to waste African kingdoms to the slave trade existing in Mauretania which is being enacted against blacks. Such a foolish comparison. But its most certainly in his nature to lie. Then the other stuff about the pygmies is just nonsensical. Bantus and pygmies used to trade extensively and even intermarried at times. Pygmies would often catch game for the Bantus, and the Bantus would give them some of their crops in exchange. The friendly nature of their interactions was characterized by the fact that the Pygmies would often build settlements by Bantu villages. Meanwhile, Europeans would catch Pygmies and parade them in zoos across Europe and in the US. This actually happened in the 20th century.
I doubt that you actually understand the effect of the Transatlantic Slave Trade on the social and economic development of Africa. If you do you would not right this cynical and tendentious article comparing modern slavery which exists in pockets in Africa to a slave trade that killed an uncountable amount. We have estimates of the death toll of those that crossed the Atlantic Ocean, but not of those that were marched to the coast, or died in confinement. What Europeans have done is truly abominable, to be crying about "villainy" rather than making amends make you like the spoilt child that cries every time he's told off not because he is sorry but because he's angry that stern words are being said to him. It's the height of narcissism.
I don't believe that Europeans went inland to get slaves, rather they were brought to the coast by Africans themselves and sold for cutlery, glassware, brass ware, etc.
No, you are incorrect. I have not stated that Pygmies have never been enslaved, abused or even killed. But you should consider the fact that Central Africa has the largest group of hunter-gatherers anywhere in the world. And so the idea that they have been the unique target of Bantus does not stand up to logic or reason. If the Iron Age Bantus were determined to kill a bunch of Stone Age Hunter Gatherers with a low population density they could have easily achieved it. They been in contact for over 2000 years and the Bantus were at least capable of forging iron weapons. It's arrant nonsense. We don't have genetic, archaeological or historical evidence it.
And at the present moment a lot of work is being done by NGOs to uplift these hunter gatherers. NGOs work with the government to provide access to schooling, shelter and food supplies. I know this goes against your narrative. But nevertheless its true. Stick to fiction if you want to try your hand at bending reality.
The fact that over 98% of the people living in Congo are Bantu, rather than pygmies tells us all that we need to know. What actually are you claiming that I has said in the piece which is inaccurate or incorrect?
Ah, you're an ignoramus and you can't think. Let me give you a little lesson. Out of all the modes of subsistence agriculture allows you to support larger populations. Therefore, the Bantus were always destined to dominate all other groups on the African continent. Not necessarily through warfare but through cultural advancement. Those who practice pastoralism, hunting and foraging are at a disadvantage.
In view of what we have seen in historical times, I think that Occam's Razor suggests genocide as a more economical explanation than 'cultural advancement'!
…and the above post shows the desperation of African Renaissance.
It does make you wonder how much of the history and extent of the slave trade has been fabricated by those in the present who seem to do very well out of it. Much like many other historical ‘atrocities’, and the groups that seem to do very well out of those too.
One only has to look at how blacks treat other blacks nowadays (including those in the west), to see that such enslavement and mistreatment between black people was highly likely in the past. I’m referring to the stabbings, modern day witchcraft-related abuse, civil wars, genocides, gang rivalries, astronomical black-on-black murder rates etc, all of which have been committed by blacks against their fellow countrymen.
Rather than take some responsibility, admit their shortcomings and and try to work to improve their communities and societies, their lack of intelligence and resourcefulness means it is much more lucrative for them to blame the ‘white man’ (who, rather paradoxically, left African societies much better off than they found them), all whilst holding their hands out demanding ‘reparations’ (aka extortion, something else they are good at).
This is inebriated ramblings of a neanderthal. Saying you left a society much better off than you found it when the death toll from slavery and colonialism sits at well over 60 million is beyond foolish. Also, the historical accounts of the regions which your ancestors visited tell a different story. African societies have their shortcomings without a doubt but Europeans have been a net negative to the continent . They are simply a nuisance and Zimbabwe did the right thing by sending those parasites away. South Africa needs to strip the wealth of the descendants of thieves & looters and give it to the black indigenous people. Black people are not Native Americans or Aborigines. You come into our land you will be dealt with.
To mimic another highly qualified individual, Dr John Campbell, who exposes government's from around the world in their inaccurate statements by reaserching publications and using facts, he uses the phrase 'Evidence based Medicine'.
As a historian, I would suggest you use the title;

You are very right Simon.

Criticism of black Africans is not something which many liberals would wish to be seen doing! And as you say, there is no money in it either.

yes I agree - but I am not sure if people just ignore certain things or because of their ideological blinkers literally cannot see them.
These things are literally invisible to white liberals!
To deny obvious reality requires some form of mental issue, even if that reality conflicts with your ideology.

Yes, I have made a couple of videos about the subject of vitamin D on my YouTube channel.

Correct me if i'm wrong Simon but didn't the Bantu hunt and eat the pygmies until it was outlawed in the 60's or 70's ?
Indeed so!

You so readily resort to ad hominem insults. I guess that means you lost the argument! Sad.
