Why do we copy the USA? African-Americans living in the USA had a legitimate grievance that although being full US citizens they were treated less favorably than other citizens so perhaps some legislation was needed.
In the UK we didn't have a 'race' problem because essentially we were a homogeneous people. But the politicians thought better so they imported American 'race' advisors, changed 'racialism' to racism' and opened the doors to people from the Caribbean. But they tended to speak English and be fervent Christians - not good enough! Let's get in lots of people from the Indian sub-continent, they don't speak English, don't dress European and they follow a supremacist religion! That should keep the race industry busy!
Something that I don't understand is why group insults are 'bad' but individual insults seem to be OK. For example one mustn't suggests that Scots or Jews are tight with money. Group individuals might think though, "Well I'm not, but the rest are!" or they might accept it with pride, "I'm careful with money, not spendthrift like you lot!". Trawl through Facebook and people like Donald Trump, JK Rowling, Nigel Farage etc. are continually being treated to what looks very like 'hate speech', apparently that is OK though.
It is clear that 'the establishment' does not treat the New Britons the same as we who have long established roots. Is it reverse racism? Maybe not, but it is an indication that 'the establishment' does not know these people, whereas it thinks it knows us, which is why they are quick to use 'thug' and 'far-right' labels.
When your child spills coffee over the new carpet they get shouted at and sent to their room; when a guest does the same we say, "Oh that does not matter! It will easily wash out!", even if that is not true.
Government thinks it has brought in guests so 'family' must not say hateful things about them. The junior members of the family think that the guests show no sign of moving out and are eating all the cake!
I am sure your views are widely held, certainly by me. But I believe the issue which causes the most trouble now is that these laws are not applied evenly to all groups. If people insult and intimidate "white gammons" the authorities do nothing. The application of the law is nothing to do with careful judgements about free speech but about exercising power over a specific group, the white English.
The very concept of ‘hate’ speech has been hijacked by the left as a means of silencing their critics or those who say things they don’t like.
Also, let’s be very clear here: hate speech laws only apply when such speech is against any group but white people, the so-called ‘minority’ groups you might say. Heaven forbid if you are an indigenous British person who dares to speak out about the unwanted demographic change taking place in your country, and as we have seen you will likely end up in prison.
Another problem is that even as this demographic change continues unabated, when Brits become a minority compared to all other ethnic groups (as is the case now in London), they are still the ‘majority’ compared to any other single ethnic group, which is effectively used to shut them up under these minority hate speech laws. This means that by the time British people really are a minority in 20-30 years’ time, it will be too late to speak out or do anything about it.
Unfortunately I believe one of the reasons why things have gotten to this point in Britain more than any other country is because of our once-desirable traits of ‘tolerance’ and fear of saying anything in case it causes offence or means we are labelled ‘racist’.
'It is very right and proper that I should be forbidden by law from menacing or intimidating somebody simply because that individual is black or homosexual or a woman,'
Shouldn't the physical characteristics be irrelevant, why should they be protected in law when it's already illegal to intimidate or menace anyone. If the police were willing to do their jobs and enforce the law without fear or favour then none of this would matter. People just want to be treated fairly.
Much of what is legislated as hate speech is often just stating the inconvenient facts. If we can't discuss a problem, how do we fix it? Just because a statement embarrasses some group, doesn't mean it is spawned by hate. Hearing unpleasant words helped my ancestors assimilate. They became Americans.
Yes indeed. That 1936 Act was updated with the 1986 Public Order Act with five sections. Section 1 covered Riot, Section 2 Violent Disorder, Section 3 Affray, Section 4 Threatening Behaviour and Section 5 Disorderly Conduct. All of these sections covered all the necessary bases for someone being accused of any of the behaviour seen in 1986 and up to today. I think it might have been updated around 2000 but I can't be sure. Either way, the hate speech laws are entirely unnecessary, superficial, call them what you will. I don't know if the sentences for hate speech laws match those of the Public Order Acts though.
I thoroughly enjoy your videos and recently saw you interviewed on the New Culture Forum. You mentioned you get death threats for your work. What a sad and pathetic thing. We have lost civility and common decency. I believe that is our greatest problem. We need to talk about morality and appropriate behavior. How can anyone possibly believe death threats for creating history videos possibly be ok? Morality and behavior and how to behave is never talked about in school or public life anymore. We need to end this nonsense and promote true morality and respect for us to be above animals. I think you do this with your work and those who attack you and threaten violence and not human in any sense. I continue to look forward to your videos and your civility.
Yes. It's been a terrible idea here, except for lawyers and 'civil rights activists', and Britain should never have adopted it, having it's own applicable laws.
Of course, "hate speech", as it has evolved, is only intended to work one way. To control the speech of whites. Never blacks, or any of the other protected grievance groups in America. They and other groups can hurl all the racial insults they want at whites, both individually and as a group.
Now, young people going to university are trained to look out for "microaggressions". Small, barely perceptible, indications of racial hostility, or hate, as detected only by the observer./s The demand for offenses to take legal action against has grown exponentially, since 1968.
I can never understand either the ignorance of Police Officers regarding the laws they can readily use or this constant demand by even The Chief Officer in the UK for ever more complex versions of laws.
To demonstrate without all of the background and fight I had to do it... Before instant tickets for drivers, they went to the magistrates...
As a result; If I could get a driver to admit that I had warned him about parking on pavements or in an obstructive but not dangerous manner, and that he was the driver who had done it again, then I prosecuted him for driving without due care and consideration... It came with fines and 3 points minimum...
The word got about on that troublesome, for many reasons, estate and folk fell into line... Not me battering some but simply ensuring lawful behaviour in one tiny way out of many available, that sets a tone and makes folk think twice...
love all your videos on youtube man you are truly an inspiration for such overwhelmingly mind numbing times. i struggle each day with thinking and feeling my true thoughts and feelings while struggling with not being able to express them to anyone lest i be deemed an unsavory or racist character. we should all be able to speak freely and point out lies and deceits in media and society at large. truth is the only goal worth attaining. absolute truth, feelings should be dealt with later. again thanks simon, i am havingf a hard time in life right now with the end of my decade long relationship and becoming houseless, i look forward to every enlightening video and post that you come up with. thank you.
It is very kind of you to say so. I am indeed viewed as an unsavoury and racist character, but since I am so old, this does not matter so much to me...

Yes, indeed. It is white men who tend overwhelmingly to be the target of such laws.
This is exactly right

'Hijacked' - they invented it, and for the reasons you give.

Yes, saying awkward facts out loud really should not be a criminal offence!

Original law simply required an aggravation clause...
That way any recent arrival would be subject to the same punishment as those here, in heritage terms at least, for the last 100 to 5000 years...

Was the Public Order Act even necessary when it is deemed assault (minus the battery part) to shout insults in someone's face?
